About us

By the time I was 14, I had already lived in NYC, Florida, Puerto Rico, and NJ. After high school, I bounced around quite a bit more — living in New Brunswick, Freehold, Elizabeth, Sparta, and Newton. I even spent a little over a year living in Grand Cayman. These days, I’ve settled down: I’ve been living in Sussex County since 2001, and my kids have had the kind of stable hometown upbringing I never did, (I’m not complaining mom and dad).

Before becoming a lawyer, I ran two businesses — first a construction company, and then an entertainment company. I spent 25 years as a mobile DJ, which taught me a lot about reading the room, thinking on my feet, and keeping things running smoothly (all skills that translate surprisingly well into law).

I started practicing law in Newton and recently expanded into Dover, with a satellite office in Monmouth County near my parents.

Over the years, I’ve taken on a wide variety of legal matters — mostly because I had a hard time saying no when someone needed help. During COVID, we became highly experienced in landlord-tenant law. We also dove into DUIs, temporary restraining orders, and criminal cases — some of the most challenging work I’ve done, but also the most meaningful. Real Estate, both commercial and residential has also become a major part of the practice, thanks to our fantastic Real Estate Paralegal, Julissa. Michelle handles everything else — and the firm is lucky to have them both.

One of the unexpected blessings of practicing in Sussex and Morris County has been the incredible legal community here. Whenever I’ve been unsure of something, I’ve had mentors and colleagues step up. That collaborative spirit has helped me grow a broad, flexible practice. These days, I’ve also learned when to say “no” — and if your case isn’t the right fit, I’ll make sure to point you to someone I trust who can help.
